Roulette Table Limits Guide

What Table Limits Do

Every roulette table sets a minimum and a maximum bet. The minimum is the smallest stake the table accepts in one round, and the maximum is the largest. Together they form the range you can play within. Limits protect the casino from very large single-spin losses, and they also decide whether a table suits your budget.

Minimums and Maximums in Practice

The minimum affects how long your money lasts. A lower minimum lets you place more bets and more rounds from the same budget. The maximum affects how much you can stake when you want a bigger bet, and it also caps how far any betting progression can go. A table can have a very low minimum and still a modest maximum, so check both.

Inside and Outside Limits

Many tables show separate limits for inside bets and outside bets. An inside bet on a single number is high variance, so its limits are often set lower. Outside bets such as red or black, or dozens, are low variance, so the limits are often set higher. If a table lists two ranges, read which one applies to the bet you want.

The limit usually applies to the total on a bet type in one round. Several chips on the same number are added together, so you can reach the maximum sooner than you expect.

Where to Find the Numbers

The table information panel is the source to trust. It shows the minimum and maximum bet before you join, and the lobby may show them on the table card as well. We do not list Rexbet’s limits in this guide, because they are set per table and can change. Check them every time you join a new table.

How to Pick a Table

  • Start with a session budget you are comfortable losing, not a target you want to win.
  • Divide the budget by the number of rounds you want to play, which gives a rough stake.
  • Choose a table whose minimum is at or below that stake.
  • Check that the maximum is high enough for any larger bet you plan.
  • Compare the wheel as well. A double-zero wheel has a 5.26% house edge, while a single-zero wheel has 2.70%.

Why Limits Break Betting Systems

Doubling systems need a deep budget and a high maximum. After a string of losses, the stake the system asks for can be more than the table allows. At that point the system cannot recover the losses, and the player has also staked a lot of money along the way. The limit does not change the house edge, but it makes long progressions impossible.

Limits Are Not a Budget

A low table minimum can feel safe, but a live round arrives about every minute, so small bets add up quickly over an hour. Table limits are the casino’s rules for the table, not a guide to what you can afford. Set your own deposit limit and time limit, and treat them as firmer than any table limit.
